About

     Tarea Stout is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. From managing stress, chronic illness, and disabilities to coping with grief, anxiety, and depression, Tarea brings compassion and expertise to her work with clients facing a wide range of difficulties.

     Tarea specializes in addressing the intersection of physical and medical conditions with mental health, as well as supporting clients through life transitions, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, adjustment disorders, and more. She is trained in multiple therapeutic approaches, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Tarea takes a holistic, integrated approach, considering the bio-psycho-social-spiritual aspects of each client to provide personalized care.

     In addition to individual and family counseling, Tarea offers career coaching, consulting, and training services. She is passionate about empowering clients to achieve personal growth and is currently accepting new clients.

Education

     Tarea earned her B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Counselor Education with a Community Counseling emphasis from Mississippi State University. She also completed a certificate in Deafness at the University of Tennessee and participated in the Executive Seminar through the National Rehabilitation Leadership Institute at San Diego State University.
