Forgiveness for Yourself and Your Child

Parenting a child with ADHD involves trial and error. Forgive yourself whenyou lose patience or make mistakes, and extend that forgiveness to yourchild when they struggle. ADHD management is a journey, not a quick fix.
1. Let Go of Perfection
• It’s okay to feel frustrated or overwhelmed. Acknowledge thosefeelings without guilt and refocus on progress.
2. Repair After Conflict
• After a challenging moment, reconnect with your child.
• Example: “I’m sorry I got upset earlier. Let’s figure out a better way to handle this together next time.”
